Phoenix 2025: Celebrating Creativity and Talent at Model Christian College, Kohima on 30 August 2025

The 5th Inter-Collegiate Talent Hunt, Phoenix 2025, was successfully held at the College Auditorium, Model Christian College, Kohima, on the 30th of August 2025 at 10:00 AM. The event was conducted under the vibrant theme “Eclectic Effervescent Effulgent.”
The programme began with a warm welcome by the moderators, Suirak R Sagongdui (B.A. 5th Semester) and Linoka K Achumi (B.A. 3rd Semester).
This was followed by an invocation from Zashebonu Savi, President of MCCEU, seeking blessings for the event’s success.
A melodious duet performance by Vimugha Yeptho (B.A. 3rd Semester) and Swuduvelu Kezo (B.A. 1st Semester) uplifted the audience’s spirit.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Albert Arücho, Administrator of Model Christian College, who extended greetings and encouraged participants to showcase their creativity and talent.
The judges were introduced by Thethem Hangsing, Head of the Department of English. The judges for the event were Akehoto Yeptho, dance cheographer at Elemenz Crew, Noune Kuotsu, conductor and musician also the administrator of Hallel Music Centre, Jakhama and Ayim Longchar, an artist and songwriter.
The event witnessed participation from 11 colleges.
The much-awaited contest commenced, where students from different colleges displayed their diverse talents with great enthusiasm, aligning with the theme of the event.
The performances kept the audience captivated, earning rounds of applause and cheers. Special sessions titled “Audience Delight” added further energy and interaction to the programme.
The judges shared their remarks, commending the creativity, confidence, and unique abilities of the participants. Their constructive feedback was well-received by the contestants.
This was followed by the announcement of results and presentation of awards to the winners, recognizing their outstanding performances.
Senjanbeni Ngullie from Model Christian College won the first position, taking away a cash prize of 15,000; The Aura Band from Kohima Science College, Jotsoma won second position with a cash prize of 10,000
The third position was bagged by the Majestic Group from Saint Joseph College, Jakhama with a cash prize of 5000k.
Consolation prizes were awarded to participants from Model Christian College, Japfü Christian College, Kros College, Sazolie College, and Oriental College.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Pemmaya Kasomva, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, and Event Co-ordinator, who acknowledged the efforts of students, faculty, judges, and all attendees.
Finally, a photo session captured the joyful memories of Phoenix 2025, marking the end of a day filled with talent, creativity, and camaraderie.
Phoenix 2025 was a grand success, showcasing the diverse and effervescent talents of young students, while fostering inter-collegiate unity and spirit. The event lived up to its theme, “Eclectic Effervescent Effulgent,” leaving participants and spectators inspired and motivated.
