Model Christian College, Kohima, observed World Environment Day under the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” The programme was organized by the Eco Club of the College. There were two sessions, a formal programme and a mass social work.

Speaking on the occasion, Noyingbeni M. Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, spoke on the topic ‘Plastic Pollution,’ emphasizing on the ill impacts of disposing plastic products to the environment adversely affecting wildlife, natural habitat, and human health. Odyuo cautioned that the greatest threat to the planet is the belief that someone else will save it.

Abigail Sheqi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, highlighted on the effects of climate change in Nagaland.

In solidarity with the rest of the world, the College organized a cleanup around the college campus.
